Rooted in funk

Paul's style is deeply rooted in funk, soul, acid‑jazz and R&B. He delivers tight, rhythm-driven grooves with impeccable pocket. He favors vintage‑style passive basses such as 1960s Fender Jazz and Precision models and a custom five‑string instrument that replicates the warmth and responsiveness of classics while offering modern feel. He sometimes integrates effects like octavers, Mu‑Tron or similar fuzz/pedal textures to shape a punchy, synth‑like bass tone. His lines often intertwine slides, soulful phrasing and staccato eighths and sixteenths to create irresistibly danceable grooves.
